Job Summary

Signature Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Residential Care Nurse. In this role, you will serve as the primary coordinator of all health care services for residents at our residential treatment facility.

As a Residential Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, administering medications, and documenting accurate counts of controlled substance medication administration. You will also conduct training to staff on medication dispensing and coordinate on-site response to incidents and other unscheduled health education groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process, including planning, conducting nursing assessments, treatments, and individualized patient plans of care.
  • Accurately administer medications and document accurate counts of controlled substance medication administration per policy and procedure.
  • Conduct training to staff on medication dispensing.
  • Coordinate on-site response to incidents and other unscheduled health education groups.
  • Monitor high-risk patients and comorbidities and communicate with prescribers and site managers.
  • Coordinate patient care with staff and other members of the healthcare treatment team.
  • Partner with professional staff in crisis management interventions.
  • Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality, and cost effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an approved program in registered nursing.
  • Valid unencumbered RN license in the state of Ohio.
  • 1+ years' of RN experience.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • A working knowledge of mental illness and the disease concept of chemical dependency preferred.
  • Working knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with technology and electronic medical records.

Working Conditions:

This role requires the ability to work in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment. The employee must be willing to provide oversight at community support groups for patients and be flexible to work evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as needed.

Physical Effort Required:

This role requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted. The employee must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements.
