Job Overview

The Lead Cashier is instrumental in creating an exceptional experience for all patrons by executing tasks with a customer-centric approach. This role involves overseeing the training of fellow cashiers, managing the front-of-house operations, processing transactions, overseeing inventory levels, and assigning tasks to cashiers while ensuring outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently operate a register/POS system and manage cash and credit card transactions.
  • Welcome and assist customers, providing top-notch service and anticipating their needs.
  • Organize and assign work tasks to team members and ensure timely completion.
  • Mentor and train staff in customer service excellence, cash handling, product knowledge, and operational procedures.
  • Provide change for cashiers and verify cash deposits.
  • Count, organize, and balance the cash drawer, complete cashier slips, and manage deposits.
  • Comply with Aramark's cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Follow the established opening and closing protocols based on operational hours.
  • Ensure adequate stock levels and arrange items to maintain inventory effectively.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the location during service hours and at the end of the day.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in customer service is required.
  • Prior cash handling experience is necessary.
  • Basic math and counting skills are essential.
  • Experience in a supervisory or similar role is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Adherence to the assigned dress code in accordance with workplace policies.
  • Completion of Food Handling and alcohol service training as required.

This position may involve physical demands, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
