Job Overview

The Lead Cashier is instrumental in creating a remarkable experience for all patrons by executing tasks with a customer-centric approach. This role encompasses training fellow cashiers, overseeing the front of the house, managing transactions, maintaining stock levels, and assigning tasks effectively to cashiers while ensuring exceptional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently operate a register/POS system and manage cash and credit transactions.
  • Welcome and assist customers, providing outstanding service and anticipating their needs.
  • Organize and allocate work assignments to the team, ensuring task completion.
  • Mentor and instruct team members in customer service, cash management, product knowledge, and operational procedures.
  • Provide change for cashiers and verify cash deposits.
  • Organize, count, and balance the cash drawer, complete cashier slips, and handle deposits.
  • Comply with cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Follow the opening and closing protocols of the unit based on operational hours.
  • Ensure adequate stock levels and arrange items as necessary to maintain inventory.
  • Participate in cleanliness and sanitation efforts during operational hours and at the conclusion of service.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in customer service is required.
  • Prior cash handling experience is necessary.
  • Basic math and counting skills are essential.
  • Experience in a supervisory or similar role is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • Adherence to the assigned dress code in accordance with workplace policies is mandatory.
  • Completion of Food Handling and alcohol service training as required.

This position may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
