Inpatient Speech Language Pathologist II

Position Overview:
Responsible for the assessment and management of communication disorders in patients with complex needs. Ensures adherence to industry standards and regulatory guidelines. Provides oversight to junior staff and contributes to community health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducts comprehensive evaluations and administers diagnostic assessments to deliver tailored therapy for adults and children facing various communication challenges, including voice and swallowing difficulties, as well as neurological issues.
Communicates findings to healthcare providers and caregivers.
Collaborates with medical professionals to adjust treatment plans as necessary. Offers mentorship to less experienced therapists. Engages in the creation of training programs for professional development. Oversees the activities of contract therapists and monitors patient care in external facilities. Acts as a consultant within multidisciplinary teams.
Formulates, executes, and upholds departmental policies and procedures. Guarantees compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Identifies and proposes strategies to enhance service delivery and manage costs effectively. Participates in community outreach programs.
Kaiser Permanente routinely reviews compensation for positions. The organization reserves the right to reassess and modify job descriptions, including the potential transition from salaried to hourly compensation, with prior notification to affected employees.
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience
At least two (2) years of relevant experience as a Speech Therapist.
Education
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology.
Licensure and Certification
California Speech-Language Pathologist License
National Provider Identifier
Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate
Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
Additional Qualifications:
Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations.
Ability to function effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
