Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Lab Scientist III (Section Head), you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing activities within your designated section (such as Chemistry or Microbiology). Your role will also involve the implementation of new laboratory procedures and providing technical guidance and training to laboratory staff.
Note: This position is represented by SEIU UHW and adheres to the terms outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three (3) years of clinical laboratory experience as a Clinical Lab Scientist.
- At least two (2) years of specialized experience in your section of expertise.
- Possession of a California Medical Technologist license (LIC CLS).
- Quarterly certification in American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency is required post-hire, utilizing internal resources for compliance.
Essential Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of clinical laboratory analysis principles, procedures, and techniques, particularly in your area of responsibility.
- Familiarity with laboratory regulatory standards (CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission).
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as a team member and engage with diverse groups across various departments.
- Proficiency in applying adult learning principles.
- Capability to lead and mentor others.
