Position Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Pediatric Long-Term Care operates under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Nursing Supervisor, contributing to a collaborative healthcare team dedicated to the care and treatment of pediatric patients. This role encompasses providing clinical support and technical assistance to the medical staff.

Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately measure and document vital signs of pediatric patients.
- Administer injections and enemas, and monitor catheter usage.
- Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing and dressing.
- Evaluate signs and symptoms that may indicate changes in the patient's health status.
- Support physicians during patient visits, which includes managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, and recording vital statistics in electronic medical records.
- Execute interventions based on established care plans and hospital policies.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
- Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize patient care needs effectively.
- Oversee the safety and functionality of the care environment and equipment.
- Administer immunizations as required.
- Maintain a strong understanding of pediatric pharmacology.

Qualifications:
- Valid LPN/LVN nursing license in the state of practice.
- At least one year of pediatric clinical experience within the last three years is preferred.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification as per state or client requirements.
- Adherence to all relevant professional nursing standards.
- Completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
- Current CPR certification, if required.
- Compliance with TB screening requirements.
- Valid Health certificate in accordance with state regulations.
- Fulfillment of all federal, state, and local employment requirements.
- Successful completion of new hire training relevant to the position.
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English required.
- Basic computer skills are necessary.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
