About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Compass Group UK & Ireland. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of our kitchen and staff in the absence of the Head Chef.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the preparation and presentation of high-quality food that meets our company standards.
  • Lead by example and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Develop and implement effective kitchen procedures to ensure efficient food production and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to plan and execute menus, specials, and promotions.
  • Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Monitor and control kitchen inventory, including food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Implement and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Conduct regular kitchen audits to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the best possible prices and service.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new menu items and concepts.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of kitchen policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Proven track record of leading a team and achieving high standards of food quality and safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of kitchen management software.
