Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cook to join our culinary team at StoryPoint. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food according to menus, recipes, and planned events for residents and their guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook food according to menus, recipes, and planned events for residents and their guests.
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Assist in planning and executing menus, ensuring that food is prepared and presented to the highest standards.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, ensuring that sufficient food and supplies are available for preparation and service.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient food service.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Ensure that the kitchen and all equipment are clean and sanitized at all times.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of three years of line cook experience and/or training.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills are required to effectively interact with residents, guests, and other staff members.
Working Conditions

This position entails standing for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle kitchen equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
