About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer II to join our team at Cox Communications. As a Cloud Virtualization Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting customer VMware environments and contributing to the development, growth, and stability of our VMware support offering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and develop multiple cloud environments within our infrastructure, including Compute, Storage, Virtual Network, Hypervisor, Backups, DR, and Monitoring.
  • Facilitate resolution of trouble tickets escalated to the support team and execute initiatives to reduce failures, defects, and improve overall performance.
  • Document procedures and processes for use by other cloud operators and provide support for our customer base.
  • Work closely with Architects, Security, and Compliance to patch, address, and mitigate vulnerabilities and compliance requirements.
  • Implement Architecture designs and updates and ensure proper monitoring and alerting configuration of infrastructure components.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field, or a different combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with VMware, vSphere (ESXi, vCenter), and server virtualization technologies.
  • Proven level of expertise and competence with managing technical escalations in a high-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Willingness to work night or weekends as needed and on a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
  • vCloud Director, NSX, vSAN, Basic Scripting & Automation (PowerShell/PowerCLI), Basic to Intermediate networking (VLAN, LACP, etc).
  • Experience with Monitoring Systems and alerting configuration, Hands-on experience in vSphere HA, vCenter, ESXi, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, Update Manager, vSAN, SRM, Log analysis, PowerCLI, and handling Sev-1 incidents and customer on call.
  • RCA preparation and meeting SLA for RCA submission, VMware SDDC Manager, VMware vSphere (vCenter Server & ESXi hosts), VMware vSphere Replication, VMware Tanzu for vSphere, VMware NSX or VMware NSX-T for Datacenter, VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle, VMware Aria Operations, VMware Aria Automation, VMware Aria Operations for Networks, VMware Workspace One, Zerto, Azure AVD, VRA, VRO, VMware in Azure, in AWS.
Compensation and Benefits

The base salary for this position is $85,500.00 - $128,300.00 per year, and may vary based on factors such as location and candidate qualifications. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health care insurance, retirement planning, and paid days off.
