Job Title: Assembly Technician

Darkhive is a startup focused on making robotics accessible to the public safety and defense community. We are seeking an experienced Assembly Technician to join our team in San Antonio.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Assembly Technician to work with our Hardware and Products teams to maintain and expand the systems our teams rely on for assembly. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electromechanical hardware and experience in manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware in automotive, consumer electronics, or Aerospace.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and expand the systems our teams rely on for assembly
  • Work with the Hardware and Products teams to ensure the quality of the products we bring to market
  • Build and fly vehicles in San Antonio
  • Develop and implement assembly manuals and design packages
  • Operate independently and lead project initiatives related to product development / manufacturing
Requirements
  • Associates Degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard science
  • 3+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware in automotive, consumer electronics, or Aerospace
  • Demonstrated self-direction skills and ability to deliver electromechanical hardware
  • Ability to read and write comprehensive technical documentation
  • Attention to details during assembly
  • Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware via any means (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.) and using relevant tools
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards, specifications, and requirements
  • Ability to operate independently and lead project initiatives related to product development / manufacturing
Preferred Qualifications
  • PCBA fabrication experience including prior work with or setup/modification/monitoring SMT processes
  • Hands-on experience with R/C and/or autonomous flight vehicles, flight controllers, or other related control systems
  • Work on personal or extracurricular projects is a plus with electronics or mechanical assembly
  • Electronics manufacturing industry experience a plus
  • Able to hand solder per J-STD and/or NASA-STD
Work Environment
  • Work environment is within an office and light manufacturing setting
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 lbs; frequent walking/standing
  • Occasional domestic travel in support of customer, company and project objectives
  • Please note this position will require being hands-on with hardware regularly and requires being close to Darkhive facilities in San Antonio
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
