Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a psychiatric unit of a hospital or mental health/behavioral health hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and be able to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in collaboration with the care team.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and order medication, blood draws, nursing assessments, and patient care as applicable per state regulations
Take medication orders and transcribe to MAR, administration of medications, ordering medications from the pharmacy, daily count of stock medications and narcotics, and keeping Medication Room up to agency standards as applicable per state regulations
Take temperatures, pulse, blood pressure, and weight per program guidelines as well as blood draws as applicable per state regulation and completing required paperwork
Maintain the integrity of the clinical record through timely and accurate completion of all required paperwork
Requirements
Current LPN license in state of assignment
1 year experience in a psychiatric care setting preferred
Prior experience working in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred
Knowledge of recovery-oriented principles, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based therapeutic modalities
