Lead Mechanical Engineer for HVAC Controls System Products

Johnson Controls International is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electromechanical control products for commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop electromechanical control products for commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain product and technology roadmaps
- Participate in long-range strategic planning of the portfolio and stay current on industry trends, competitive products, and evolving technology
- Develop technical strategies to modernize legacy products and improve manufacturing operations
- Lead product design reviews and design for manufacturing reviews
- Help develop and maintain relationships with strategic Contract Mfg., ODM, JDM, OEM partners
- Champion continuous improvement programs
- BS degree in Engineering (ME, EE)
- 12+ years of experience in the design and development of related products
- Experience mentoring/training junior engineers and reinforcing engineering design practices
- Strong technical background in design and development of electromechanical products with the ability to formulate system-level solutions
- Strong business acumen and strong interpersonal skills to influence and provide leadership both with engineering development teams and with product and business leaders
- Creative thinker with the ability to extrapolate concepts and extend the vision for technology to form innovative solutions
- Demonstrated success leading technical initiatives
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies and equipment used in the design and testing for electromechanical products
- Willing to travel to suppliers, customer sites, and other engineering centers globally
