About the Role:

Glasser Preschool of Elevated is a part-day play-based program that provides an educational foundation for young children, including teachings of Judaism. Our purpose is to foster each child's physical, emotional, educational, ethical, and social growth in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote learning through experimentation and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with a teaching team to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth and successful program.
  • Meet Illinois DCFS qualifications for early childhood teachers, including background and medical clearances.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date on best practices.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • At least 19 years of age and high school diploma or GED.
  • One of the following: 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six; or one year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six; or completion of credentialing programs approved by Illinois DCFS.
  • Ability to sit, stand, reach, walk, kneel, and to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • CPR/AED, First Aid, and Food Handler certified within 30 days of employment.
  • Meet all DCFS requirements within 30 days of employment.
