Job Summary: Governors State University's Family Development Center is seeking a qualified Infant/Toddler/Two's/Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our early childhood education program, you will be responsible for implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children aged 6 weeks to 3 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement a success-oriented program for Early Head Start children in a mixed-age classroom
  • Integrate Early Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC standards, and Illinois Day Care Regulations into the schedule and curriculum
  • Work in teaching teams to design the environment and create lesson plans to meet individual child needs
  • Provide a warm and accepting environment for children, parents, volunteers, and staff
  • Model behavior for GSU students and serve as a role model for the community

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or equivalent
  • One year of experience working with infants/toddlers in a licensed setting
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development
  • At least 3 years of experience working with infants and toddlers
