Position Overview:
Under general supervision, you will manage projects and execute site landscape design tasks of moderate complexity while exercising sound professional judgment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct landscape design work and calculations on progressively challenging projects, preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates using CADD, MS Word, MS Excel, and other relevant software.
- Ensure quality control for various project delivery tasks, overseeing the work of Assistant and Junior Landscape Designers and technical staff.
- Possibly handle project management responsibilities, including scope, budget, schedule, and billing for specific project tasks.
- Engage with clients and represent the firm on designated project elements.
- Perform field verifications of existing conditions to ensure alignment with design intent.
- Supervise less experienced landscape designers and/or technicians on projects of moderate to average complexity, demonstrating proficiency in producing planting plans, irrigation plans, construction layout plans, grading and drainage plans, and detailed specifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution, with a minimum of 2 years of experience equivalent to an Assistant Landscape Designer. A Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.
- Thorough understanding of contemporary landscape architectural principles, site design, state building codes, ADA accessibility regulations, and familiarity with engineering practices and environmental assessments.
- Strong time management abilities along with effective oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient marketing and promotional skills.
- Extensive knowledge of CADD and other business application software.
Eligible candidates should be prepared to qualify for the Landscape Architectural Licensing Exam.
