This role is essential in safeguarding the premises and ensuring the safety of staff, clients, and visitors through regular patrols of designated areas. The position may also involve serving as the Lead Officer or undertaking specialized tasks related to safety or parking management.
Key Responsibilities
- Accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to fulfill essential functions.
- Communicates updates regarding security policies and procedures and makes routine decisions regarding work assignments.
- Documents and reviews all incidents that occur during the shift and evaluates reports submitted by junior security personnel.
- Assists in the development and execution of training programs.
- Acts as the Officer in Charge in the absence of a Lead Security Officer or Supervisor.
- Conducts patrols, responds to, and documents incidents occurring on-site. Utilizes intervention techniques as necessary.
- Maintains oversight of properties through surveillance cameras and regular patrol routes.
- Manages crowd control during meal services or special events.
- Identifies hazards and issues parking citations as required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certification in Adult CPR/First Aid & AED.
- California Guard Card certification.
- O.C. Pepper Spray permit.
- A minimum of 1 year of security experience, including training responsibilities.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Must be at least 21 years old with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience; must possess a valid California driver's license and have no Class 1 or more than two Class 2 violations within the past 36 months.
- Participation in an annual Tuberculosis screening and/or other health screenings as necessary.
Work Environment
- This role involves continuous exposure to hazardous substances, potentially dangerous situations, and challenging work conditions, including adverse weather and risks to health or safety.
- Bending and Stooping: Bending the body downward and forward at the waist.
- Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders or stairs using legs and arms; agility is essential.
- Heavy Lifting: Physically moving items weighing 45 pounds or more from one location to another.
- Kneeling: Bending legs at the knees to rest on one or both knees.
- Mobility Requirement: Ability to navigate between different office locations.
- Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction.
- Repetitive Motion: Engaging in substantial movements of the wrists, hands, fingers, and upper body for extended periods.
- Sitting: Sustained periods of sitting may be required.
- Standing: Sustained periods of standing may be required.
- Walking: Moving about on foot, particularly over long distances.
- Visual Requirement: Ability to see and read computer screens and detect color coding.
- Hearing Requirement: Ability to detect specific sounds and ensure proper equipment operation.
