KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delivers occupational health services and urgent care for injuries and illnesses, including follow-up assessments.
- Conducts comprehensive medical evaluations as part of pre-employment, annual, return-to-work, and executive health assessments. Analyzes findings from evaluations and tests to make informed decisions regarding candidate placements.
- Serves as a medical review officer for drug screening, contingent upon certification.
- Engages with employers to assess health and safety requirements, performing workplace inspections and evaluations.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act and OSHA regulations, demonstrating proficiency in these areas through case management reviews.
- Acts as a consultant and resource for client organizations and OccuMed Resources staff concerning Occupational Medicine and OSHA compliance.
- Contributes to the formulation, execution, and revision of policies and procedures that impact medical practice and the quality of occupational health services.
- Collaborates with physicians and staff across various occupational health and urgent care facilities.
- Oversees the work of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
- Leads initiatives aimed at improving medical quality standards.
- Facilitates communication with the broader medical community.
- Exhibits proficiency in all assigned responsibilities.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit for up to three (3) hours daily; stand for up to eight (8) hours; and walk for up to six (6) hours. Frequent use of hands for therapeutic procedures, with the capacity to lift, carry, and push objects weighing up to 10 pounds consistently, and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Rarely, with assistance, lift up to 100 pounds, and push/pull patients weighing up to 300 pounds in a wheelchair or stretcher. Occasional bending and stooping required. Must possess normal vision and hearing capabilities.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a graduate of an accredited medical school. Board eligible, with a requirement to obtain certification within one year of employment, or board certified in occupational medicine, family practice, emergency medicine, or internal medicine.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
A minimum of one to two years of experience is preferred, particularly in urgent care and occupational health settings. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
