Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Specialist to join our team at Aspen Aerogels. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, analyzing root cause for inventory variances, and recommending next steps and resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory practices to ensure accuracy, auditing warehouse and inventory activities including receiving, storage, and shipment of raw materials or finished goods.
  • Cycle Counting: Execute daily cycle counts for raw material, semi-finished and finished goods, and timely reconciliation of count variances for all sites.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Execute root cause analysis and make recommendations on resolution or process improvements.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Report cycle count results to management and analyze trends.
  • Inventory Verification: Verify that inventory is being received and billed properly.
  • Cycle Count Discrepancies: Identify cycle count discrepancies and adjustments to inventory.
  • Annual Physical Inventory: Support annual physical inventory.
  • External Warehouse Physical Inventory: Support external warehouse physical inventory (monthly, quarterly or annually).
  • Cycle Count Program: Create annual cycle count program, perform a close follow up to ensure correct execution.
  • Process Improvements: Recommend improvements in current procedures.
  • Inventory Categorization: Categorize inventory using ABC.
  • Digital Scales and Scanners: Can operate digital scales and scanners.
  • Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Experience: Between 2-4 years of experience working in an Inventory Control environment is required.
  • Quality Work: Demonstrates quality work through accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail.
  • Problem Solving: Exhibits efficiency in problem solving by identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner to meet established customer deadlines.
  • Operating Equipment: Experience with operating standard and automated office equipment including scanning devices, computer, and label printing machines.
  • Microsoft Office: Knowledge and experience with Microsoft office including Excel.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Interpersonal skills to exchange information between departments and with management personnel.
  • Forklift Experience: Forklift experience required.
  • Computer Skills: Must possess strong computer skills and have ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Must be competent at oral and written communications and handle basic math computations.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are a must.
  • Specialized Equipment: Will be required to use specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: digital scales and scanners.
