Job SummaryThe primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the proper collection and delivery of blood specimens for laboratory testing.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood specimens from patients using aseptic techniques and proper labeling.
- Deliver specimens to the laboratory for testing, ensuring timely and accurate results.
- Perform quality control and safety procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure smooth specimen collection and delivery.
- Utilize hospital information systems and software to manage specimen tracking and reporting.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain certification and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a structured phlebotomy training course and clinical rotation.
- One year of previous clinical lab experience, preferably in phlebotomy.
- Certification as a Phlebotomist by a nationally recognized agency/board.
- Basic Life Support certification.
We also welcome candidates with:
- Pediatric phlebotomy experience.
- National certification as a Phlebotomist.
