Inpatient Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Inpatient Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at Duke University Health System. As a Clinical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the proper collection of blood specimens for established procedures and protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures, including phlebotomy and specimen management.
- Prepare and initiate special tests and procedures, including cytogenetics and Point-of-Care Testing.
- Communicate effectively with patients, family, and medical personnel to ensure problem recognition and resolution.
- Utilize standard equipment to maintain positive patient identification and perform order entry as required.
- Perform quality control, safety, and infection control procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Completion of a structured phlebotomy training course and clinical rotation.
- One year of previous clinical lab experience preferred.
