Phlebotomy Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at UNC REX Healthcare. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures, ensuring quality and accuracy of work, and investigating problems with equipment and patient results.
Responsibilities
- Consult with healthcare providers and patients regarding patient care as it relates to phlebotomy service issues.
- Ensure quality and accuracy of work, including phlebotomy procedures and equipment maintenance.
- Investigate problems with equipment, patient results, and workflow.
- Participate in teams or perform special projects/assignments.
- Teach and train new employees, phlebotomy students, and other healthcare providers.
- Review test results to ensure accuracy of reporting and timely correction of errors.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures, quality control, and equipment maintenance in the laboratory.
- Responsible for and/or ensures completion of daily work and assigned tasks.
Requirements
High School diploma or GED required. One year of phlebotomy experience required, or graduation from a phlebotomy program with no previous experience.
Work Details
Per Diem position, working every other Friday and Saturday night, 10:00pm - 6:30am. Eligible for night and weekend shift premiums.
