About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our team at Vulcan Materials Company. As an Accounting Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing, training, and mentoring a team of accounts receivable specialists. This role will involve managing accounts receivable functions within Accounts Receivable Services and ensuring the integrity of financial data generated for the corporate office and operating divisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise a team of accounts receivable specialists
  • Implement, maintain, and support business processes necessary for effective and efficient operation
  • Ensure compliance with external government regulations and internal policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and direct personnel to accomplish duties
  • Work with customers and other supervisors to ensure accurate and timely information is available
  • Responsible for certain aspects of the company's closing process
  • Prepare various internal and external financial reports
  • Special analyses and employee development
Requirements
  • B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • Three to five years relevant accounting experience
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Accounts Receivable experience preferred
  • Experience with Oracle or other ERP software is desired
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of GAAP is required
