Position Overview:
The Lead Respiratory Therapist plays a crucial role in overseeing the respiratory therapy department, ensuring optimal patient care and operational efficiency. This position involves coordinating staff assignments, addressing clinical and operational challenges, and upholding departmental performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assigns staff to various care areas and manages clinical situations as they arise.
- Acts as a liaison between the respiratory therapy team, nursing department, and medical staff.
- Delivers clinical patient care as necessary during regular duties.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Valid NJ Respiratory License
- BLS certification
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in respiratory therapy
Preferred:
- Additional certifications and licenses relevant to the field
Work Schedule:
- Part-Time
- Day Shift
- Standard hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Essential Functions:
- Maintains positive relationships with all stakeholders, including employees, physicians, patients, and visitors.
- Utilizes feedback to enhance processes and services to meet customer needs.
- Ensures high visibility and accessibility to staff and patients.
- Responds promptly to all customer inquiries and requests.
- Assists in the orientation and training of new employees.
- Conducts chart reviews and participates in quality assurance activities.
- Engages in departmental planning and accepts assigned tasks to achieve results.
- Addresses clinical and operational issues effectively as they arise.
- Facilitates communication between shifts to ensure continuity of care.
