Key Responsibilities
  • Fostering a Supportive Learning Environment: Assist educators in establishing a classroom that is welcoming and encouraging, ensuring that every student feels appreciated and motivated to learn.
  • Providing Individualized Support: Offer personalized assistance to students, facilitating their understanding of assignments and maintaining their engagement in the learning process.
  • Implementing Behavioral Strategies: Utilize behavior management techniques to encourage positive conduct and create a conducive learning environment.
  • Facilitating Communication: Serve as a liaison between students and teachers, clarifying instructions and ensuring that each student's requirements are recognized and addressed.
  • Assisting with Instructional Materials: Support the preparation and delivery of educational resources, tailoring them to accommodate the varied needs of students.
  • Providing Emotional Support: Be a compassionate presence for students, aiding them in navigating social and emotional challenges.
  • Collaborating with Team Members: Work in tandem with teachers, therapists, and other staff to deliver a comprehensive approach to each student's educational journey and overall well-being.
Qualifications
  • Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in special education, psychology, or a related discipline is advantageous.
  • Relevant Experience: Background in working with children with special needs or autism (e.g., RBT, mental health technician, teacher assistant).
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Empathy and Patience: A genuine passion for supporting student success, coupled with patience and understanding.
  • Team Collaboration: Capability to work effectively within a diverse team of educators and specialists.
