THE POSITION The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to acquire the necessary skills for independent living and employment within their communities.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK


As an Employment Support Specialist, your role will involve establishing and nurturing referral networks to ensure that potential clients for vocational rehabilitation services are effectively identified.

You will have the gratifying responsibility of assessing and coordinating service delivery for active participants, monitoring each individual's progress, and making necessary adjustments to enhance their chances of success.

Through collaboration with clients and relevant stakeholders, you will identify suitable vocational objectives and formulate a collaboratively agreed-upon individualized employment plan to achieve the set vocational goals.


Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be tasked with creating fulfilling and progressive objectives for each individual, providing counseling, guidance, and support services, and facilitating job placements for clients.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment with work hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, including a 30-minute lunch break. Initial training will be provided, followed by a position based in a designated area covering multiple counties.

Telework:
There may be opportunities for part-time telework after the training period, provided you have a secure high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location within the state.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Successful completion of the commonwealth's Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Intern program; or A master's degree in vocational rehabilitation, mental health, special education, social work, human services, psychology, business administration, human resources, public administration, or a closely related field; or Possession of an active Certified Rehabilitation Counselor certificate issued by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification; or Proof of approval to sit for the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) Certified Rehabilitation Counselor certification examination, provided by the CRCC, and completion of a master's degree.

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.


Other Requirements:
PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.

Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
