Job Title: Vehicle Condition Assessor

At CarMax, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Vehicle Condition Assessor to join our team. As a key member of our Merchandising Department, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer experiences by accurately collecting, recording, and communicating information about customer appraisals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough vehicle condition assessments, collecting and recording all required information, including cosmetic and mechanical conditions, options, and more.
  • Accurately option vehicles during assessments and maintain CarMax inventory.
  • Perform high-quality and timely imaging of Retail and Wholesale vehicles for CarMax websites.
  • Secure vehicles, verifying appraisal entry information for any discrepancies.
  • Complete vehicle walkarounds, communicating information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Merchandising Department with maintaining inventory and executing customer transfers.
  • Verify the condition of inventory acquired through online customer channels.
  • Participate in the preparation and operation of the wholesale auction.
  • Collaborate with Inventory and Sales Departments to conduct lot merchandising, as needed.
  • Assist with on-boarding of new associates and complete assigned tasks independently.
Requirements:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and work collaboratively with other departments to create iconic customer experiences.
  • Ability to follow detailed, standardized processes to complete work.
  • Read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records.
  • Multi-task in a high-energy, fast-paced work environment.
  • Speak and listen effectively when dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Function effectively within other departments in a team-oriented environment.
  • Successfully complete all required Workday training.
  • Position requires a valid driver's license.
Working Conditions:
  • Requires walking, bending, kneeling, or standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors or in any inclement weather environment for several hours.
  • Flexible work hours with shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Requires CarMax work clothing to be worn when working in the store.
  • Adhere to all CarMax policies, including Attendance, Proper Recording of Time, Asset Protection, EH&S, and Standards of Professional Appearance.

Primarily working in an outdoor environment; may include working at times in noisy and/or inclement weather conditions.
