Citi is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Government Affairs team as a Senior Vice President for Third-Party Public Policy Engagement. This role will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with left-of-center, bipartisan, and nonpartisan public policy organizations, including think tanks and advocacy groups, to advance Citi's public policy priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a strategic engagement plan to advance Citi's public policy priorities with key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with public policy organizations, including think tanks and advocacy groups.
- Communicate Citi's public policy positions and their positive impact to key stakeholders.
- Represent Citi in meetings with public policy organizations and in public fora.
- Provide strategic advice to government affairs' management, colleagues, and internal business partners on public policy issues.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience working with left-of-center, bipartisan, and nonpartisan public policy organizations.
- Strong existing relationships with public policy advocacy groups, think tanks, and other organizations that influence public policy at the federal, state, and/or local levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills to influence and build trust with a wide range of audiences.
- Experience creating and leading engagement strategies to achieve public policy goals, preferably for a business.
- Ability to travel.
- Public policy and political knowledge: Understand the relevance of government action on business decisions.
- Collaboration and influencing: A team player with demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Business acumen and results orientation: Willing to take ownership of responsibilities in a constantly changing corporate environment.
