Position Title: HVAC Journeyman Mechanic

Position Summary: We are seeking a qualified HVAC Journeyman Mechanic to deliver maintenance and repair services for HVAC systems. This role is critical in supporting the operations at a government facility, ensuring that all equipment functions efficiently and effectively. Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, service, and repair environmental control systems.
  • Apply knowledge of refrigeration principles, pipefitting, and structural layout to perform tasks such as mounting compressor and condenser units, fabricating ductwork, and installing evaporator units.
  • Conduct regular inspections and monitoring of HVAC systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on-site to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks to uphold equipment performance.
  • Document findings and report any deficiencies to supervisors.
  • Oversee subcontractors' work and provide necessary reports.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman HVAC License is mandatory.
  • Must have an active TOP SECRET Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
  • Possession of relevant certifications such as:
    • North American Technician Excellence (N.A.T.E.) HVAC Service Technician Certification
    • HVAC Excellence Professional Level Certification
    • UA Star HVACR Mastery Certification
  • A minimum of five years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of chiller plant operations and building air systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry weights up to 75 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Capability to push, pull, or move equipment and supplies.
  • Manual dexterity and mobility are essential.
  • Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching may be required.
