Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Orientation and Mobility Specialist to join our team at Dysart Unified School District. As a key member of our Exceptional Student Services department, you will play a vital role in providing educational services to Vision Impaired students district-wide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and prepare educational services for Vision Impaired students, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with parents, staff, and outside agencies to support students' educational needs.
  • Administer assessments to evaluate students' skill levels, progress, and achievement, as needed.
  • Provide instruction consistent with students' Individualized Education Plans, using strategies and materials tailored to their abilities and learning styles.
  • Develop and implement behavioral management strategies to promote effective learning.
  • Participate in student study teams, IEP meetings, and parent conferences as needed.
  • Consult with parents, staff, and outside agencies to ensure students receive the support they need.
  • Identify and request materials, supplies, and equipment to implement IEP goals and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit required documentation in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and National Certification for Orientation & Mobility.
  • Valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Valid Arizona driver's license and proof of current auto liability insurance.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze business documents, government regulations, and technical procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
