Overview:

In the realm of healthcare, collaboration is essential for achieving success. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will engage with patients and their families throughout their entire clinic journey. Your role encompasses everything from administrative duties to clinical support, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for all involved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recognize and assess urgent medical needs of patients, initiating appropriate emergency protocols as necessary.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of various payer regulations, ensuring compliance in all actions.
  • Facilitate effective communication among interdisciplinary teams, utilizing insights from various healthcare professionals to assess patient needs.
  • Adhere to clinic protocols for the organization and management of electronic medical records, including retrieval and documentation of test results.
  • Evaluate patient and family comprehension of treatment plans and instructions.
  • Assist in various procedures and examinations, as well as the operation of diagnostic equipment when assigned.
  • Uphold strict aseptic techniques during preparation and administration of medications and procedures.
  • Accurately document all patient interactions within electronic medical records.
  • Relay results and pertinent information to patients and healthcare team members.
  • Operate within the limitations of your license or certification.
  • Perform fundamental nursing tasks, such as taking vital signs, rooming patients, assisting with procedures, and administering immunizations and medications under the supervision of a healthcare provider.
  • Ensure the professional appearance and cleanliness of patient examination and procedure rooms.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current LPN license issued by the State of Iowa.
  • Previous experience in a clinic or physician's office is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers, to be obtained within three months of hire.
  • Completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to the population served, to be completed within three months of hire.
