Proton Radiation Therapist

Inova Health System is seeking a highly skilled Proton Radiation Therapist to join our dynamic team at the Inova Schar Cancer Institute. As a key member of our Radiation Therapy department, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our cancer treatment programs.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Administer radiation treatments using linear accelerators and patient simulation equipment, ensuring accurate setup and delivery of treatment modalities.
- Perform simulation procedures to verify proper functioning of equipment and ensure accurate patient positioning.
- Maintain accurate records of daily treatments and other required documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Participate in department in-services, conferences, and meetings to stay up-to-date on new technologies and best practices.
- Associate degree in Radiation Therapy or Certification.
- 2 years of experience as a Staff Therapist in a Radiation Therapy department with experience in linear accelerators and patient simulation.
- American Registered Radiologic Technologist required upon start.
- VA License highly preferred.
