Position Summary:
The Laboratory Medical Assistant II - Flexible Position plays a crucial role in the healthcare team. Responsibilities include:
  • Receiving and processing specimens from both inpatient and outpatient sources.
  • Communicating effectively with nursing staff regarding patient specimens.
  • Coordinating with external laboratories for specimen referrals.
  • Engaging with physicians, clients, and staff about referral lab tests.
  • Performing phlebotomy procedures.
  • Assisting in various projects as needed.

Work Schedule:
Status: Flexible Pool
Shift Hours: Varies
Weekend Work: Every Other Weekend
On Call: No

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Certifications and Licensures:
    Preferred: Phlebotomy
    Required: Driver's License (if applicable)
  • Education:
    Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience:
    Preferred: 6 months in a laboratory-related role or phlebotomy, or 6 months in a related field
  • Specific Skills:
    Required:
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient computer skills relevant to the position
    • Strong organizational abilities
    • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
    • Team collaboration skills
    • Understanding of medical terminology
    • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
