Job Description

The Water Institute of the Gulf is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager/Project Manager to lead key projects, including those within the Community Resilience Center. As a key member of the project management team, you will be responsible for managing high-profile and complex projects, ensuring they meet the Institute's commitments to partners and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects from initiation to closure, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, including work breakdown structures and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, partners, and team members, to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Monitor and control project costs, schedules, and quality, identifying and mitigating risks as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Project Management to develop and implement project management protocols and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of project management experience, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects.
  • Knowledge of Gulf Coast climate resilience, environmental justice, or related sectors.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of project management experience, with a proven track record of managing large, complex projects.
  • Experience managing government contracts and grants, with knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations.
