Position: Lead Python Engineer

We are in search of a skilled lead python engineer to develop applications that enhance both customer experiences and internal processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, excel in teamwork, and possess the technical acumen necessary to effectively manage projects and prioritize tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, encompassing analysis, design, testing, and deployment.
  • Create web applications utilizing a diverse range of programming languages and technologies.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions for design and architecture.
  • Participate in code evaluation sessions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to define and implement effective solutions.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Event-Driven Architecture, including Azure Functions and Azure Service Bus for developing scalable, event-driven applications.
  • Integration expertise: Proficient in integrating various systems and services using RESTful APIs and other integration methodologies.
  • Strong proficiency in application development using Python.
  • Knowledge of HTML and JavaScript for front-end web application development.
  • Ability to write basic SQL queries and a general understanding of relational database concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of troubleshooting issues across multiple application layers.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git for collaborative software development.
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies, managing tasks, and delivering features iteratively.
  • Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Understanding of application security principles and best practices, including data encryption and secure coding techniques.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices, including Docker, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and application deployment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a minimum of 2 years of application development experience.
  • Experience with the Azure cloud platform.
  • Familiarity with Transportation EDI Transactions such as 204, 990, 214, and 210.
  • Experience with IoT and GPS technologies.
  • Proficiency in C# is a plus.
  • Experience implementing search functionalities using Elasticsearch, including indexing, querying, and data retrieval is advantageous.
  • Experience in designing SQL databases and procedures is a plus.
  • Background in drayage, transportation, or logistics is beneficial.
