Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Utility Operator to join our Plastics division on 3rd shift. As an Utility Operator, you will be responsible for operating multiple machines and lines, and be willing to fill-in wherever the need is greatest.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine customer requirements per work order and prepare for production run.
  • Adjust equipment and dies to achieve correct customer requirements.
  • Mix glue according to mixing instructions and adjust temperatures to properly melt plastic.
  • Cure blocks in oven and turn on laminator to correct heat settings.
  • Check gap distance between rollers and insert polypropylene panel into laminator.
  • Trim cut panels with a safety knife and maintain equipment in good working condition.
  • Assist other production areas as needed and package finished products.
  • Identify material needs to be cut for the day and obtain raw honeycomb materials from extrusion/expansion areas.
  • Set up saws according to cutting instructions and cut honeycomb into shapes and sizes designated by customer requirements.
  • Assemble water flow blocks with properly mixed glue and perform and record all necessary information to ensure traceability and quality.
  • Report production results at the end of the shift on all necessary documents and/or software.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work overtime.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
