Position Overview

The Chief Guest Relations Officer is responsible for overseeing financial, revenue, and guest service administration onboard, ensuring that all operations align with the company’s esteemed service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interact professionally and amicably with all departments including Front Office, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Deck, and Engineering, as well as with guests.
  • Prepare and analyze daily and weekly financial reports.
  • Manage, mentor, and train the team of pursers and first pursers.
  • Oversee scheduling and crew accommodations for the Pursers office.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office, POS, and PMS systems effectively; experience with MXP is advantageous.
  • Handle all financial transactions onboard, including guest and crew accounts.
  • Conduct payroll functions for crew members.
  • Ensure seamless embarkation and debarkation processes for guests.
  • Coordinate provisioning needs at various ports of call.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and high performance among all staff.
  • Solicit feedback and implement improvements for team success.
  • Uphold the highest standards of marine practice and professionalism.
  • Participate in USCG mandated drills and emergency procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required to achieve operational goals.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) if applicable.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English is required.
  • Ability to engage with individuals at all levels in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and POS systems.
  • Capable of training and supervising team members.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and execute tasks independently.
  • Maintain a polished and professional appearance.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five to seven years in a similar role with related responsibilities.
  • Experience in the cruise industry is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated.
