About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Director of Behavior to join our team at the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the behavioral care and pathway planning for animals in our facilities, ensuring their medical and behavioral health and welfare.

Our mission is to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement behavioral treatment plans for animals in our care
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and other experts to review cases and make decisions about animal care
  • Develop and disseminate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for animal care and handling
  • Manage a team of behavior experts, including behavior specialists, associates, and coordinators
Requirements
  • Master's or PhD degree in animal behavior or a related field
  • 3+ years' experience in people management, preferably in a shelter environment
  • Fear Free certified within 6 months of hire
Benefits and Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $198,000 - $210,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and holidays.
