Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of Quality Control Team: Manage daily operations of the quality control personnel to ensure adherence to established protocols.
  • Process Oversight and Enhancement: Formulate, execute, and document procedures for process control, testing, inspection, and improvement.
  • Expertise in Drawings and Weldments: Exhibit advanced skills in interpreting drawings, particularly large weldments.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Management: Oversee the ISO 9001:2015 QMS, ensuring compliance through regular internal audits.
  • Support for Concurrent Engineering: Engage in design and development initiatives to facilitate concurrent engineering efforts.
  • Metrics and Quality Measurement: Establish and maintain metrics such as process capability, control charts, and quality assessments to enhance system performance.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Process Enhancement: Conduct root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to implement effective corrective measures.
  • Contract and Order Review: Ensure all necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans by reviewing customer orders and contracts.
  • CMM and GD&T Skills: Demonstrate a foundational understanding of CMM operations and GD&T interpretation.
  • Calibration and Testing Program Management: Supervise calibration and testing initiatives to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Quality Reporting and Audit Participation: Report quality issues and trends to management; act as the Management Representative or Lead Auditor during audits.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Keep quality control documentation current and up-to-date.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Educational Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Welding Standards Knowledge: In-depth understanding of welding steel products in accordance with ANSI/AWS D1.1 standards.
  • Training and Manufacturing Experience: Proven track record in training manufacturing personnel and developing quality management systems.
  • Inspection Techniques and Documentation: Comprehensive knowledge of inspection methodologies and documentation practices.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in quality control software, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; excellent communication skills.
  • Safety Standards Awareness: Familiarity with general safety protocols and Military Standards.
  • Certifications: ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB) preferred.

  • Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move around the facility.
