Role Overview:

The Senior Project Engineer will play a pivotal role within the Electrical Systems and Controls team at Vectorsoft, focusing on the Large Power Systems Division. This position entails overseeing supplier sourcing activities related to large engine control panels and harnesses. The ideal candidate will engage with global engineering, procurement, and supply chain teams, as well as liaise directly with suppliers and production facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project activities related to supplier resourcing.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new suppliers.
  • Assist both new and existing suppliers with component availability challenges.
  • Identify suitable harnesses for resourcing initiatives.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities in alignment with business awards.
  • Monitor and understand demand signals.

Work Environment:

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with approximately 60% of the time spent in the office and 40% working remotely. Travel requirements are minimal, typically less than 5%, and any travel would be to nearby suppliers.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a four-year Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of 4 years of pertinent experience in design, development, or project management.

Technical Proficiencies:

Required: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).

Preferred: Familiarity with Teamcenter, ProE, Pro-Cable, and CREO (ProE Schematics) software, as well as knowledge of electrical standards and certifications such as SAE, ANSI, ISO, IEC, NFPA, NEMA, UL, RoHS, and CSA Class 1 Div 2.

Essential Soft Skills:

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong self-starting capabilities and technical leadership. Effective communication of technical information, both written and verbal, is crucial. The ability to foster teamwork and collaboration is essential for developing productive working relationships within and outside the department. Proven skills in managing complex assignments, prioritizing tasks, and handling multiple projects concurrently are required.
