The following duties outline the primary responsibilities of the CVB Marketing Specialist:

  1. Marketing Initiatives: Support both outbound and inbound marketing efforts, showcasing expertise in content creation, advertising strategies, and event coordination.
  2. Vendor Collaboration: Work alongside external partners to successfully execute promotional events and marketing campaigns.
  3. Community Engagement: Collaborate with marketing professionals to enhance awareness of County initiatives and marketing strategies.
  4. Content Management: Ensure the availability of updated marketing materials, including photos, videos, and brochures, utilizing modern technology to feature user-generated content on our digital platforms.
  5. Social Media Development: Establish and nurture relationships with potential clients through social media channels to attract group business.
  6. Event Support: Provide assistance at travel shows, fairs, and other exhibitions hosted by the CVB.
  7. Marketing Plan Execution: Undertake specific tasks within the marketing plan as assigned.
  8. Community Promotion: Actively promote local attractions and events within Geary County.
  9. Driver's License Requirement: Maintain a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a vehicle legally.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Plan and implement strategies to engage target audiences through various channels, including social media and email.
  2. Collaborate with educational institutions and influencers to create compelling content that encourages travel to our area.
  3. Analyze marketing data, such as campaign performance and conversion rates, to inform future strategies.
  4. Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervision and Accountability

This position operates with a degree of independence while also collaborating with the CVB Director and other staff members. The role does not include supervisory responsibilities but requires accountability for departmental resources.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years in a marketing role or similar position.

  • Comprehensive understanding of marketing principles and research methodologies.
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics and tools.
  • Professional demeanor in all interactions.
  • Ability to manage situations responsibly and effectively.

Equipment Knowledge

Work Environment

This position primarily involves office work, with occasional off-site visits. Regular attendance is essential due to the nature of public service required by the County.
