In accordance with applicable state and federal regulations, responsible for overseeing daily non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative functions, ensuring streamlined pharmacy processes and a positive experience for patients.

Functions as a full-time certified pharmacy technician, managing pharmacy systems to gather patient and medication data and process prescriptions efficiently.

Under the guidance of a pharmacist, supervises pharmacy technicians and cashiers, adhering to company policies, legal standards, and ethical practices.

Accountable for the recruitment, scheduling, and development of pharmacy technician staff. Leads training initiatives, coaching, and performance evaluations of pharmacy personnel. Makes informed decisions regarding performance management, including disciplinary actions.

Customer Experience

Engages with customers and patients by providing a warm welcome and assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues, addresses inquiries promptly, and ensures a positive service experience.

Models exemplary customer service practices and fosters strong relationships with customers by anticipating their needs and proactively offering services to enhance their pharmacy experience.

Operations

Assists the pharmacist in delivering patient care, including patient registration, prescription data entry, and medication preparation. Completes patient and physician communications under pharmacist supervision.

Supports healthcare service offerings, including vaccine administration and health screenings, in compliance with legal guidelines.

Utilizes independent judgment to delegate and assign non-clinical tasks within the pharmacy, ensuring timely completion and accountability for efficient workflow.

Prepares and maintains necessary reports and records as directed by the Pharmacy Manager or pharmacist, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Manages core pharmacy operations, driving excellence and coordinating daily activities. Ensures the pharmacy environment is clean, organized, and adequately stocked.

Exercises independent judgment to uphold compliance and execute administrative tasks and inventory management that do not require pharmacist licensure.

People & Performance Management

Leads performance evaluations of pharmacy technicians, making recommendations regarding disciplinary actions as necessary. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.

Accountable for technician recruitment, onboarding, training, and scheduling, while monitoring timely completion of training programs.

Identifies knowledge gaps among team members and supports their development through hands-on training or educational resources.

Assists the Pharmacy Manager in ensuring all pharmacy staff licensures and certifications are current and compliant with regulatory standards.

Training & Personal Development

Maintains PTCB certification and engages in ongoing education to enhance pharmacy and healthcare knowledge.

Seeks professional growth through performance monitoring, constructive feedback, and mentorship opportunities.

Communication

Facilitates communication within the pharmacy team, sharing important updates and participating in regular meetings.

Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Minimum one year of experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital environment.
  • Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking) is required (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous leadership experience in a management role.
  • Prior experience with Walgreens and a record of exceeding performance expectations.
