Kaiser Permanente is looking for a skilled Ultrasound Technologist II to join our team.

Position Overview

As an Ultrasound Technologist II, you will be responsible for producing high-quality two-dimensional ultrasonic images of internal organs, aiding physicians in diagnosing medical conditions and assessing organ functionality. You will work under the supervision of the Imaging Services Director and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate professionalism and empathy while explaining procedures to patients to alleviate concerns and gain their cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for examinations.
  • Select and set up ultrasound equipment based on examination requirements.
  • Adjust transducer settings and equipment controls according to the specific organ being examined.
  • Operate ultrasound machinery to capture images and record diagnostic information on various media.
  • Manually maneuver the transducer over the designated body area while monitoring the quality of the ultrasonic display.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of test results and patient information in the ultrasound system.
  • Assist in training new staff members as needed.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.
Supervisory Role:

This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Licensure and Certification:

Applicants must possess at least two certifications from the following:

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Certificate
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate
  • Other relevant certifications as specified.

Additional Requirements:

  • Certification may be required within a specified timeframe after hiring.
  • Specific certifications are necessary for certain specialized roles.
