Position Overview:
Arc Broward is seeking a Director of Family Services (DFS) to spearhead our Family Strengthening and Respite Care with Enrichment initiatives, alongside our Intake, Social Services, and Case Management within the Children's Division.
The DFS is tasked with providing effective and encouraging leadership that fosters a culture of appreciation and support for team members, aligning with the organization's mission, vision, and core values. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centered services and support to families of children with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategically plan and supervise the delivery of direct support services, ensuring adherence to Individual Person-Centered Planning, program design, and service delivery models tailored for children and families.
- Oversee personnel management functions, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation, to ensure compliance with HR policies and regulatory standards while fostering team development. The DFS will manage a team of 3 to 5 direct reports and support a department of approximately 20 staff members.
- Maintain fiscal responsibility by managing departmental budgets in accordance with sound financial practices.
- Ensure compliance with all contracts, policies, procedures, and regulations, including the preparation and submission of required reports for funders in line with contractual obligations.
- Enhance public relations by educating community stakeholders about individuals with disabilities and advocating for their rights and responsibilities.
- Oversee the enrollment and disenrollment processes for children and families, ensuring smooth transitions.
- Manage participant records effectively to maintain confidentiality and compliance.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Child and Family Services, Human Services Administration, Special Education, or a related field is required.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, with strong organizational, project management, interpersonal, and communication skills. Attention to detail is essential.
- Experience in managing complex contracts with governmental entities, foundations, and other stakeholders, including performance and outcomes management.
- Demonstrated experience in leading large, diverse teams and mentoring team members.
- Experience in family strengthening, parent education, and social service programs for children with disabilities and their families.
