Job Summary

The Vascular Access Clinician is a critical member of the Northern Arizona Healthcare team, responsible for coordinating care for patients and their families. This role requires a high level of expertise in vascular access procedures, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' needs and conditions, identifying outcomes and developing individualized plans of care.
  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Vascular Access Procedures: Perform peripheral venous and arterial catheter insertions, as well as central line insertions and maintenance, adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Patient Education: Provide education to patients and families on vascular access procedures, care, and maintenance.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Serve as a team leader, preceptor, and active member of the healthcare team, promoting a culture of excellence and quality care.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate or Technical degree in Respiratory Therapy, with a focus on vascular access.
  • Certification and Licensure: Active, unrestricted Arizona RN License or valid, participating compact license, as well as certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Vascular Access Specialist (VAS) - Basic Certification (VA-BC).
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of independent PICC insertions or completion of PICC training course, with in-depth knowledge of clinical techniques, applications, and equipment.
