About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Manager to join our team at Denali Water Solutions LLC. As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for leading and directing the collection activities of our Interstate Class A Interstate CDL Drivers in a geographically dispersed area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Direction: Provide strategic leadership and direction to drivers within assigned areas, which may involve being in the field 25% - 75% of the time to assist with new customer route coverage, rollouts, and equipment drops.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to ensure consistent performance and build relationships with drivers to encourage retention.
  • Scheduling and Routing: Assist in scheduling and routing new customer rollouts, equipment drops, or ridealongs with the training team to evaluate and train drivers.
  • Communication and Coordination: Act as a liaison between operations, drivers, dispatch, and other support teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Route Optimization: Review daily/weekly routes, determine potential gains from rerouting, and recommend reroutes to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Case Management: Manage Open Cases and assist dispatch in investigating Service Failures, Geofence issues, and providing action plans to prevent future occurrences.
  • Performance Management: Conduct scheduled performance reviews and submit recommendations for salary adjustments.
  • Policy Enforcement: Enforce company policies and issue coaching/disciplinary documentation as needed.
  • Driver Advocacy: Act as a driver advocate to answer driver questions, concerns, and resolve issues.
  • Technology and Safety: Ensure routing technology is used and routes are executed as designed, and ensure safety procedures are adhered to Company Operating Standards, including reviewing driver DOT logs for HOS compliance.
  • Expense Control: Manage expense control initiatives to actively manage driver spend.
  • Asset Management: Maintain asset inventory lists and files, and operate and maintain field equipment while maintaining full environmental compliance.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Assist Regional Ops. Mgr. with scheduling repairs and preventative maintenance for on-road and off-road equipment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Obey and flag buffered zones on permitted fields before application, pull soil samples and have soil analysis completed before moving onto a new field, and manage Client Sampling program and perform sampling and lab submission.
  • Land Management: Record and subtract loads applied in the field log after every application, use best management practices when applying to ensure correct application and respect for landowner's property, monitor land usage and manage farm storage sites to ensure efficient operations.
  • Communication and Liaison: Monitor frac tank levels and farm storage site levels and report daily, maintain accurate and correct paperwork and submit it in a timely fashion, and provide onsite management and support for field operations.
  • Equipment Operation: Inspect and maintain all equipment being used in the field, and be aware of all equipment malfunctions and parts repair or replacement.
  • Teamwork and Accountability: Ensure safe equipment operation and maintain a safe work environment, become a team player, be accountable, and have a positive and professional attitude.
  • Business Development: Acquire and maintain adequate land base for the customer base, prepare permit applications and ensure compliance with all regulatory and permit conditions, and coordinate field scheduling with the Operational Manager and farmers.
  • Reporting and Data Management: Track product shipments and land application quantities, and be responsible for the timely submittal and uploading of data into the tracking database.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Act as a farmer liaison with Operations staff and regulatory liaison with state and local agencies.
  • Relationship Building: Establish long-term, value-added relationships with local farmers, contact farmers on a consistent basis to address concerns and obtain feedback on performance, and complete regulatory permit forms, maintain company compliance, etc.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical information and presentations to farmers, regulatory agencies, municipal clients, and the public as needed, and assist with Operations, Sales, and Project Development teams as needed.
Requirements:
  • Communication Skills: Strong phone/email contact handling skills and active listening.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Team player willing to help others as needed, familiarity with CRM systems and best practices, customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different styles.
  • Technical Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively, working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and ability to quickly learn new computer applications and systems.
