Job Description:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to join our Systems Engineering team as a Responsible Engineer for Vehicle Design. This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which is focused on creating a sustainable presence on the lunar surface.
  • As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining and developing the requirements and design artifacts for the lunar lander system. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the system meets the necessary technical, safety, and performance requirements.
  • Your passion, expertise, and skills will impact the design, development, and integration of the spacecraft and mission success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and develop the requirements and design artifacts for the lunar lander system
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure system meets technical, safety, and performance requirements
  • Collaborate with other engineers to develop and implement solutions to complex problems
  • Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of Systems Engineering experience performing activities such as requirements definition, traceability, interface definition, design documentation, integration, verification, and validation
  • Detailed knowledge of space systems design and requirements
  • Ability to lead and coordinate requirements and design products across stakeholders and experts from varying engineering fields
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate technical information effectively
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
