The Stanford Center for Clinical Research (SCCR) is a leading academic research organization within the Stanford Department of Medicine. Our mission is to conduct and promote innovative clinical research to improve human health.
We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Coordinator/Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in the COVID and Long COVID trials at the Stanford Tri-Valley site, specifically the notable NIH-funded COVID-19 study, RECOVER.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in participant recruitment and enrollment under the guidance of a CRC II
- Oversee research participant workflow to ensure completion of study visits
- Manage various aspects of the study, including participant communication, data collection, and protocol adherence
We prioritize equipping our team members with the necessary tools to excel in their roles, supporting their skills development and career growth within the organization.
Primary responsibilities of the role include:
- Serving as the main point of contact for research participants, sponsors, and regulatory bodies
- Coordinating specimen collection and processing
- Managing patient and laboratory data for clinical research projects
- Ensuring adherence to research protocols and accuracy in case report forms
- Preparing regulatory submissions and overseeing Institutional Review Board renewals
Other duties include assembling study kits, monitoring procedures and charges, and collaborating with finance and management teams on budget-related matters.
It is essential to maintain accurate documentation of patient and research data in compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
- Participation in monitor visits and regulatory audits is also expected.
To qualify for this role, candidates should possess a Clinical Research Operations certificate or demonstrate interest in obtaining one.
Required qualifications:
- A two-year college degree with two years of related work experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of medical terminology
Candidates should also be working towards certifications for basic patient measurements and tests like phlebotomy and EKG.
This role may involve occasional sitting, reaching, computer tasks, and lifting objects up to 40 pounds.
