Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Acquisition Program Manager to join our team at the Department of Defense. As a key member of our acquisition team, you will be responsible for leading complex acquisition programs and providing expert guidance on acquisition policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct programs with technical authority over a range of information technology disciplines, systems, and applications.
  • Lead research, analysis, and design over core areas including information technology warfare, emerging technology, strategic trends, and policy.
  • Oversee a cadre of contracting officer representatives and develop goals that integrate all phases of procurement objectives with those of acquiring technically adequate IT products, systems, and services.
  • Prepare related synopses, detailed reports, and/or analyses for use by senior leadership as it relates to IT research, development, integration, and implementation efforts.
  • Prioritize IT projects and initiatives among the customer population and provide follow-on, authoritative IT evaluations recommending appropriate new technologies to be seamlessly incorporated into ongoing DISA priorities.
  • Makes senior management level recommendations for IT problem resolution/improvements in DISA IT operations and maintains situational awareness of customer missions, resources, operational challenges, and Congressional and OSD concerns.

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

  • Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-15, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.
  • Education: There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at the GG-15 grade level.
Additional Information

This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system.

This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service. A three year trial period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.

This position is subject to completion of 1 year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position.
