Job Summary:

As a Radiologic Technologist II at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries by performing radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures. Under the direction of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, you will operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images of the body, ensuring optimal diagnostic quality of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation, demonstrating a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, adjusting immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body.
  • Determine exposure factors based on patient height, weight, and the portion of the body involved, ensuring proper detail, density, and accuracy.
  • Operate mobile radiologic equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or at patients' bedsides, assisting radiologists and other qualified physicians as needed.
  • Prepare images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians, processing and reviewing images for proper identification and quality control.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
  • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed, orienting new staff and training students as needed.
Requirements:
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California)
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California)
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California)
  • Basic Life Support
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
