Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at UHS. As a Patient Access Coordinator, you will be responsible for preparing, submitting, and online entry of Vision and Chiropractic services. You will also manage related Charge Review WQs, post payments to billed charges, and maintain tracking logs for timely submission and follow-up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the supervisor as requested.
  • Process all incoming PPO authorization requests.

Key tasks include:

  • Contacting payers to verify eligibility.
  • Initiating authorization requests through payer internet websites or phone calls.
  • Obtaining necessary information from providers or medical records to support authorization.
  • Tracking and monitoring authorization requests through completion and updating clinic PM.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assisting in verifying eligibility for hospital registrations.
  • Assisting in updating patient accounts.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Two years of prior experience in medical billing/collections is preferred.
